The Serbia Open, an ATP World Tour 250 series tournament, will be held in Belgrade from April 23 till May 1 this year. The event was held for the first time in 2009 and is played on outdoor clay courts. It is a first for Serbia, as the country never before hosted an ATP or a WTA tournament.

28 participants will take part in the main draw, led by the world no.2, Novak Djokovic. Tennis fans will have opportunity to see also Viktor Troicki, Guillermo Garcia-Lopez, Albert Montanes, Juan Monaco, John Isner, Feliciano Lopez, Janko Tipsarevic, Fernando Gonzalez (returning after recovering from his right hip surgery)… Four more players from the qualifiers, two wild cards and two "special exception" spots will be added to the list for a total of 28 players. 16 pairs will play in the doubles competition.

The event is being organised in Belgrade, on the courts of the Tennis Center Novak since 2009, when Serbia became a part of the tennis world map for the first time in its history! The 2009 tournament was proclaimed by the ATP organisation the best organised tournament in the ATP World Tour 250 category, for the overall impression, for the exceptional organisation and a great atmosphere, and for the quality of the participants. Because of all these characteristics Serbia Open is one of the major sporting events in Belgrade and Serbia.
