The legend of flamenco guitar, Paco de Lucia, will perform at the Sava Center on October 18 within Belgrade Music Festival 2012. Paco de Lucia performed in Belgrade several times and the last concert was held two years ago within the Guitar Art Festival. His concerts are always spectacular, so the forthcoming concert at the Sava Center will also be amazing for sure, since the legendary guitarist will perform with a big band and singers.
The first Spanish musician who was presented with an honorary doctor of music degree from Berklee College of Music in Boston, Paco de Lucia has become a synonym for the flamenco guitar and, at the same time, one of the most original representatives of the genre. In his career which spans decades, he has performed throughout the world. Although he has always remained rooted in his flamenco music heritage, he has always tried to be innovative and different: "What I have tried to do is have a hand holding onto tradition and the other scratching, digging in other places, trying to find new things I can bring into flamenco." This curiosity has led to Paco de Lucia's renowned collaborations with some of the most famous musicians of our time such as American pianist Chick Corea and the Guitar Trio, featuring guitarists John McLaughlin, Larry Coryell, and Al DiMeola, as well as singer Bryan Adams with whom he recorded the hit song and video "Have You Ever Really Loved A Woman" on the soundtrack for the movie Don Juan De Marco.
